We Found Homes for These Unwanted AnimalsPebbles
Kathy adopted Pebbles, an unusual-looking cat, and sent us this picture along with the certification that Pebbles had been spayed. Kathy says that Pebbles has brought a lot of joy into the family's life. You can do a good deed, save a cat, and bring joy into your life, all in one easy operation. Cassius
Tabitha took Cassius to foster him for a while, but he became part of the family. You can see that he already has a favorite chair. Karen says that he gained ten pounds and has been neutered. You may notice that his eye looks strange, but he has had surgery and its seems that medication may return it to its normal color. Tabitha says that he is "a joy to her and her family," and that, if we come upon more boxers, we should call upon her if we cannot place them. If you would like to have a joy to you and your family, visit our shelter for a dog of unknown parentage and background, who will be truly grateful for a chance to live a dog's life. Patches
Patches has been adopted for a year. He had parvovirus at the Humane Society, but recovered, and kept growing. He is now a big dog, over 60 lbs, and is a wonderful pet, housebroken and obedient to commands. Cindi says that he brings much joy to her home, and she does not regret "for one second" that she gave him a home. He now has a younger sister, a Siberian Husky, as a housemate, along with the original dog of the house, Buddy, who is 17. Clearly, Cindi and her family do not expect Buddy to be with them a lot longer, and they were thinking ahead about having a dog around. Many of our adopters have more than one animal, and often more than one dog. Dogs are company for each other, and usually get along better than people expect. Former eggs
Someone in Greene County decided to take up chicken farming, then chickened out when the chicks arrived. Since it was not yet dinner time, the post office personnel called us, and we found a farm for these chicks. Remember: If you have the urge to buy a cute little chick for a child, the chick will grow into a chicken long before the child grows into an adult. Stick with chocolate eggs. Leave the chicks to farmers and 4-H. Farm philosophy for today: What is a chicken but an egg's way of making another egg? These are the pictures of animals that you have seen on the Humane Society of Greene County web site, but who have found homes due to your caring attitude.
