HOME SWEET HOME - OUR NEW SHELTER UPDATE
AUGUST 28, 2004

Welcome to the Humane Society of Greene County's new home, located at 183 Jefferson Road in Waynesburg. This is a picture of our new sign that lets visitors know who we are and how to get in touch with us. We hope you'll visit us soon!

This is a picture of the outside of the building from the front. That's Sue's car out front. Sue is one of our volunteers who answers the phones on Thursday's and Saturday's. If you've called the shelter, I bet you've talked to Sue!

Front of shelter

Meet Gemini, our shelter dog. Gem's been with us for awhile and brings a smile to our face- she'll bring one to yours too--she's always there to greet you and welcome you to our new shelter!

This is our reception area. Sitting behind the desk is Sue! Friendly Humane Society staff are always ready to welcome you to their facility and to help you find your new best friend! We're always looking for new volunteers to help us in our mission. If you're interested in volunteering, call the shelter at (724) 627-9988. You might even talk to Sue!

Put on your safari hat as we welcome you to our Cat Jungle. Grab your binoculars as you will see Pete the cat below lounging in the Cat Lounge. Cat Lounge area is for adult cats and there is a separate Kitty Room for small cats and kittens.

Now venture into the outdoor jungle--don't forget your safari hat! Cats (and people too) exit the indoor kennel areas through a door and out to an enclosed jungle area equipped with trees and toys where they can play and run and swing from the trees if they like. There is a room and jungle area for cats and a separate room and jungle area for kittens.

There's also a seating area in each jungle; seats can be used by either humans or felines, but be prepared to endure lots of cat fur and be pounced upon!

We'll move on to the Dog House where our canine friends are housed. Here's a friendly little guy who will soon be going home to a happy loving home. The Humane Society's goal is that every cage have a sign that reads I'm Adopted .
